After moving all along the West Coast, veteran Norman Harrop chooses a manufactured home from Clayton Homes of Kodak to enjoy his retirement in. Read Norman’s story and see the home he chose.

Millions come to visit East Tennessee to enjoy the mountains for a short visit, but Norman Harrop gets to enjoy a mountain view every day from his Clayton Built® home cradled in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. Norman was born in Tennessee to a family of 18 kids. He enlisted in the military after his time at home came to a close and served the country for 12 years and three tours before retiring.

Though he’s lived in several states along the West Coast and some time in Maine, East Tennessee will always be home in Norman’s heart. After his wife passed away, Norman decided to move back to his homeland. He spent some time in a condo, but soon realized he wanted a real place to call his own. After stopping by Clayton Homes of Kodak, Norman’s dream quickly became a reality.

Home Center Manager Eric Hall helped Norman select a suitable manufactured home model for his needs, the Santa Fe 648A, featuring 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Norman picked a beautiful piece of land in a neighborhood with views of both the lake and the mountains

Norman’s favorite part about his home is the outside, which he takes great pride in caring for. He has planted flowers, stained his deck, and can frequently be seen out mowing his lawn and his neighbor’s.
